event description with logos of participating organisations in the background

2050 Climate Group and GYBN UK are hosting an online event for 18-35 year olds within Scotland to facilitate meaningful discussion which the organisation can use to achieve the following objectives that were established within this year's World Oceans Day:

  • Deepen appreciation of the ocean’s wonder and its diverse manifestations

  • Recognize and practice the act of “wondering” as a tool for sustained stewardship

  • Inspire innovative thinking and collaborative action for ocean conservation

  • Carry the ocean’s wonder into conversations and decisions about how we interact with its fate

In doing so: 2050 Climate Group further aim to emphasise young peoples' views and priorities for the ocean within key policy and further activities which are relevant to decisions made regarding its use and sustainable stewardship.

To do so, the following are example topics of what may be addressed within the event:

  1. Defining Wonder

  2. Wonder & Science

  3. Wonder & Ocean Affairs

  4. Wonder & Wisdom

  5. Wonder & Innovation

  6. Wonder & Community

  7. Wonder & Collective Action

The discussion event will take place at 6pm on Sunday 29th June and is expected to take 1hour (it may be longer or shorter depending on discussion contents and any additional questions or points attendees would like to address after the main topics).

Please register using the form below by the Friday 27th of June. A link to the discussion event will be sent once registration has ended.

Please note: As 2050 Climate Group's activities revolve around 18-35 year olds within Scotland, we can only facilitate our discussion event for this age group and location.
