⚫⚫ Fix My Own Bike! FMOB session for women & minority genders

  • The Wee Spoke Hub 13 Guthrie Street Edinburgh, Scotland, EH1 1JG United Kingdom (map)

Open Workshop (Women & Minority Genders)

Learn to fix your own bike in a friendly, supportive workshop. Volunteers are on hand to offer guidance, and you’ll have access to professional workstands, tools and a range of new and second-hand parts.

Workshop fees:

  • £6/hour – Concession

  • £8/hour – Standard

  • £10/hour – Supporter

Please note

This is a DIY session. You’ll be repairing your own bike with support from volunteers.

If you’d prefer a mechanic to carry out the work for you, please book a Bike Service, Repair or Safety Check instead.

Who can attend?

These sessions are for women and people of minority genders. They are part of a trial to make bike maintenance more accessible to underrepresented groups. Open Workshop sessions for all are also available on other days.

Before you arrive

When booking, please complete the Eventbrite questions to let the team know:

  • What time you expect to arrive.

  • What work you’d like to do on your bike.

This helps them plan volunteer support and workshop space.

For any questions, email weespokehub@shrubcoop.org.

Good to know

  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little greasy (aprons are available).

  • Volunteers will help guide you, but you’ll be doing the repairs yourself.

  • Some complex repairs aren’t suitable for Open Workshop sessions. If you’re unsure, get in touch before booking.
