SCCAN & ESS: Insight into Environmental Standards Scotland

Join Scottish Communities Climate Action for an exciting insight into the work of Environmental Standards Scotland and how they can support your community organisation.

ESS is an independent oversight body set up to maintain and enhance Scotland’s environmental standards. They do this by monitoring and investigating public bodies’ compliance with environmental law, the effectiveness of the law and how it is implemented and applied in Scotland. In short, they ensure public bodies are doing what they should be doing and whether the underlying laws are effective enough.

Join in for an exciting insight into ESS, covering their role within Scotland, their work to protect the environment, and how they can support your community organisation. The ESS team are keen to make it easier for communities to raise environmental concerns with them and get the answers that could help progress projects which benefit people and place.
