Many Communities, One Table: Join us for our Autumn Assembly
Wednesday 11th November 2026 | 11am–4pm | Greyfriars Charteris Centre, Edinburgh
How can food bring us together, strengthen connections across cultures and communities, and help us build a more sustainable Edinburgh?
This November, we’re bringing together community groups, local residents and organisations from across Edinburgh for our Autumn Assembly, Many Communities, One Table.
Food is about much more than what we eat. It’s a way of sharing knowledge, traditions and stories, building relationships and caring for one another. This year’s Assembly will explore these connections, bringing different perspectives and experiences around the same table.
What to expect
The day will include opportunities to connect with others across Edinburgh’s community climate network, hear different perspectives, share food and take part in creative and practical workshops.
In the afternoon, you’ll have the opportunity to join one of four workshops exploring food from different angles:
Growing Made Easy, with Grow2Eat – practical food growing, even in wee spaces.
Food, Sustainability & Lyric Writing, with Choirs for Climate – exploring food and sustainability through creative lyric writing.
Social Food, with Edinburgh Can B – exploring the role of food in bringing communities together.
Flatbread Making, with Granton Community Bakery – learning to make Gijnij wraps together.
Workshop places are limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis, so we encourage you to book early to secure your preferred session.
Join us!
Whether you’re already involved in community climate action or curious about getting involved, we’d love to welcome you.
The Assembly is free to attend, and your ticket includes your chosen afternoon workshop. Please book one ticket per person so we can keep track of numbers and dietary requirements.

We’ll also be heading to a special People Planet Pint gathering after the Assembly, offering another opportunity to continue conversations and meet others working towards a greener, fairer Edinburgh.
We look forward to seeing you around the table!
