What are Climate Bites - and could you host one in 2026?

January Climate Bites at the Embassy Gallery

Climate Bites are ECCAN’s monthly lunchtime gatherings, bringing people together from across the network to connect, share ideas and talk about local climate action - over food.

Each Climate Bites session is hosted by one of our member organisations and catered by a local catering company. Lunch is always vegetarian or plant-based, free for attendees, and shared in a relaxed, welcoming setting. Sessions are usually attended by around 15-20 people, creating space for genuine conversation and connection.

How Climate Bites work

ECCAN organises the event logistics, including:

  • Hosting and managing the Eventbrite ticket page

  • Promoting the event across the ECCAN network

  • Coordinating attendees and communications

The host organisation provides the space and welcomes people in. Climate Bites are a simple but powerful way to introduce new audiences to your work, your projects and your place within the city’s climate and community landscape.

Why host a Climate Bites?

Hosting a Climate Bites is a great opportunity to:

  • Bring new people into your space

  • Share your work with others across the ECCAN network

  • Spark conversation around climate action, community and collaboration

  • Build connections with individuals and organisations you might not otherwise meet

If you’re interested in boosting your community reach and hosting thoughtful, informal climate-focused conversations, Climate Bites could be a great fit.

Looking ahead to 2026

We host Climate Bites monthly, with a break in December, and we’re now looking for host organisations for 2026. Sessions are usually held on the third Thursday of the month, though there’s some flexibility where needed.

We’re especially keen to host Climate Bites in different neighbourhoods and communities across Edinburgh, so these conversations can be shared more widely.
