Applications Open for the EMEN Ambassador Programme
The Ethnic Minority Environmental Network (EMEN), facilitated by CEMVO Scotland, is recruiting for its 2026/27 Ambassador Programme, supporting young people from ethnic minority backgrounds across Scotland to develop their skills and become climate leaders.
The fully funded, year-long programme will give participants opportunities to get involved in community engagement and climate advocacy, both locally and nationally. Ambassadors will build the confidence, knowledge and practical skills to engage with decision-makers, contribute to environmental policy, advocate for climate justice and mobilise action within their own communities.
Participants will also be supported to develop their own ideas, from organising events and community initiatives to exploring new projects and organisations.
EMEN’s work focuses on strengthening ethnic minority voices within conversations and decision-making around climate change, recognising both the disproportionate impacts of the climate crisis and the importance of ensuring communities can meaningfully influence the policies and decisions that affect them.
Who can apply?
The programme is looking for people who:
Are aged 16–30
Are from an ethnic minority background
Live in Scotland
Are interested in environmental justice and climate action
Want to develop their skills in community organising, advocacy and policy
The programme requires a commitment of around 1–2 hours per week.
