CARES Funding Now Open & Free Support Session for Community Groups

The Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES) has reopened for applications, offering valuable support for community groups, charities and social enterprises working towards a just transition to net zero.

Two funding pathways are currently available:

Both are designed to help communities take control of their energy use, reduce costs and lower emissions.

To support groups exploring the opportunity, Community Energy Scotland’s Launchpad is hosting a free online session on 11 May at 6:30pm, focused on how the Community Buildings Fund can support renewable energy projects in community spaces.

State of the Sector 2026 – take part and win £500
