Creative Opportunities for Young People This Autumn
Looking for a new opportunity this autumn? Impact Arts is recruiting for two free programmes in Edinburgh, helping young people build confidence, develop new skills and explore creative and environmental careers.
Whether you’re interested in the arts, Edinburgh’s history or protecting nature, there’s something to get involved in.
CashBack Hubs: Explore Edinburgh Through Creativity
This free creative programme invites young people to discover Edinburgh’s fascinating history through visits, research and hands-on creative activities.
Participants will explore photography, filmmaking, printmaking, creative writing and digital storytelling while uncovering hidden stories, historic places and the lives of people from the past. Along the way, they’ll build confidence, develop transferable skills and, where appropriate, have the opportunity to work towards an SCQF Level 3 or 4 qualification.
No previous creative experience is needed, and all materials, snacks and travel costs are provided.
Who: Young people aged 14–19
Where: The Crannie, 9 Cranston Street, Edinburgh, EH8 8BE
When: Wednesdays, 16 September – 18 March
Time: 10:00am – 3:00pm
Green Starts: Nature, Creativity and Green Careers
Green Starts is a new employability programme for 16–24-year-olds who are currently not in education, employment or training.
Delivered in partnership with Historic Environment Scotland’s Holyrood Park Rangers, the programme combines outdoor conservation work in Holyrood Park with creative workshops and employability support.
Participants will develop practical skills, work towards a qualification and receive tailored support to help them progress into employment, training or further education. The programme is particularly suited to anyone interested in climate action, conservation, nature or a future green career.
A daily training allowance is provided, alongside snacks and travel support where needed.
Who: Young people aged 16–24 who are not in education, employment or training

When: Wednesdays, 28 September – 15 December
Time: 10:00am – 3:00pm
