This September: Step Inside the Incredible Pianodrome!
Each month, we shine a spotlight on a different ECCAN group member, and in September, we're absolutely thrilled to be hosted by the remarkable Pianodrome. Imagine a world where old pianos find new life, transformed into breath-taking architectural wonders. That's the vision brought to life by musician friends Tim Vincent-Smith and Matthew Wright, who in 2017, embarked on a unique journey to construct the world's very first amphitheatre entirely from upcycled pianos. Their ground-breaking Pianodrome at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, for the 2018 Fringe Festival, captivated 18,000 visitors, earning widespread critical acclaim and international recognition.
Today, from their vibrant warehouse workshop in Granton, Pianodrome continues its innovative work. They run weekly piano dismantling sessions, regularly host fantastic free concerts, and operate their heart-warming "Adopt-a-Piano" scheme—a true haven for pianos in search of a new home. This is your exclusive invitation to step inside their inspiring space and experience their magic first-hand!
