A Greener Future for the Fringe
Last Saturday, we gathered at the heart of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe to discuss an important question: how can we make the world’s biggest arts festival more sustainable and less carbon intensive for the future?
The Climate Café brought together people working across arts, culture and climate action to share ideas, experiences and perspectives on what a more sustainable Fringe could look like.
Amidst the busyness of the festival, it felt particularly valuable to have space for these conversations. Different networks and creative practices came together, ideas were shared and new connections were made — opening up opportunities for further collaboration beyond the Fringe.
The gathering was hosted by Jessie Lindsay and Circus Zambia, with ECCAN joining the conversation alongside creatives and organisations from across the city and beyond.
